Desert Recreation Foundation works behind the scenes to ensure that all residents in the Coachella Valley have access to quality recreational resources, facilities, parks, and programs that serve today's needs and those for generations to come.
What We Do:
As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the Desert Recreation Foundation raises funds through individual and corporate gifts and grants to support a variety of efforts including:
The Desert Recreation Scholarship Fund which provides financial assistance to families and individuals in the community who may otherwise be unable to participate in recreation activities
The Adaptive/Therapeutic Sports & Recreation Program benefiting those with cognitive, developmental, and/or physical disabilities
Assists with the purchase of new park lands, program equipment, and other items for the District's parks and facilities
Desert Recreation Foundation is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, Desert Recreation Foundation
has a policy of providing an accessible website compatible with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and
commercial screen reading software. All features of the website are coded to allow individuals with vision and
other impairments to understand and use the website to the same degree as someone without disabilities. We welcome
feedback and can often resolve issues in a timely manner if they arise.
